Meet at Pakenham Church where there is also a car park.
The walk includes a visit to Pakenham Watermill en route, which is a working mill. The entrance fee is £3 for those who'd like to look around. The recce for this walk invovled traversing a path elbow-high in nettles! Shorts are probably not a good idea for this walk!

This has been organised by Hike Essex and is arranged jointly with Walk Cambridge and ourselves. Meet in front of the National Gallery, Trafalgar Square at 10:30 for 11am. This is a team competition and the teams will be sorted at the start. Each team will require an A to Z.

The idea of this walk is that each team will aim to visit as many of the places from the Monopoly board in the allotted time. A list will be provided and each place will be worth a different number of points. There will also be bonus points for pictures taken of related items. More information will be provided on the day. There will be a prize of a nominal value for the winning team.

WALKING WEEKEND

This year our weekend away will be in the New Forest, based in Lyndhurst. This is cetrally located in the area and has many B&B's and other accommodation. Here is the link to the Official New Forest website which has an accommodation search: The New Forest

Hikefest 2008 is this years annual gathering for the 20's-30's groups. This year it is all happening at the Hawkshead YHA in the Lake District.
The cost of basic weekend (fri,sat,sun) is £75, optional meal on fri evening £10, if people wish to arrive on the thurs to extend their stay. the cost of b&b on the thurs is £20.50 at the yha. There is a booking form and full contact details for the organisers at the above link.
